Ashby Fields Primary School
Ashby Fields wanted to bring their energy bills down and reduce their environmental impact.
OUR SOLUTION
We helped Ashby Fields fund and install a 30-kW solar panel system and replace their traditional lighting with LED’s, with an interest-free capital loan of £59,974 to install.
These panels will generate 25% of their annual electricity requirement. Ashby Fields is paying back the loan using savings from their reduced energy bills combined with payments through the government’s ‘Feed in Tariff’ (FIT) scheme. They should be able to pay it back in just 8 years, whereas the life of the solar panel system will be at least 25 years.
THE RESULT
We helped Ashby Fields fund improved lighting throughout the school, an interactive display unit to be used as an educational tool for students, and an annual revenue stream of £2,000 a year in FIT payments, all while reducing their CO2 emissions by 16.5 tonnes a year!
